Add-Ins (Web)

primedocs Add-In - Outlook (New)

Outlook (New) logo primedocs is available for the web-enabled version of Outlook: Outlook (New). Outlook (New), and therefore also the primedocs add-in, behaves identically both in the desktop application and directly in the browser.

Opening the primedocs Add-In

Click on New e-mail to write a message. A button with the primedocs signet then appears in the ribbon. Click on the primedocs signet to open the primedocs sidebar, i.e. the primedocs add-in.

The taskpane adapts to the available width. With enough space, navigation appears as a side rail; at window widths of up to 600 pixels, it moves to the header. Outlook Mobile does not show this navigation rail or bar. User settings and profiles are available through the user menu.

In taskpane hosts, Favorites and Recently used appear as pinned folder rows in the template overview, including list, grid and detail views. They replace the header segments used in the regular web client.

For multiple form groups, navigation uses a menu in the form header if group navigation is enabled for the template. This menu is also available in the regular web client. Use it to go to the required group. In a narrow layout, a separate preview button opens the template preview. The stored preview image and the live preview are different: Outlook email templates do not support a live document preview.

Signatures

In the Signatures tab, you can select which signature is to be inserted in your message.

If your organisation has configured the automatic insertion of email signatures, you will probably only open the sidebar if you want to use a different signature.

Inserting a signature in Outlook (New) is easy:

  1. In the Selected language selection list, select the language in which you are currently writing your message.
  2. Then select the desired profile if you have more than one.
  3. Under Select signature, select the desired signature.
  4. Finally, click on the Insert signature button to insert the signature.
info

Which signatures are available to you depends on the combination of document language and selected profile.

Snippets

In the Snippets tab you can insert predefined snippets into your email. You can:

  • switch between the Public, Personal, and Favorites areas,
  • search for snippets and filter by document language,
  • insert a snippet into the message body with a click,
  • create, edit, and delete your own snippets and folders, and manage favorites (with the appropriate permission).
note

Insertion is aware of the message format: HTML snippets cannot be inserted into a plain-text email.
