From version 4.0.3... .NET 8 is required on the server side.

Microsoft support for the previously used .NET 6 expired on 12 November 2024.

Desktop client / server synchronisation compatibility: OneOffixx 3.7/3.8 and all previous primedocs desktop clients can synchronize with the primedocs server of version family 4.0.3. primedocs desktop clients of version family 4.0.3 can synchronize with the primedocs server from version family 4.0.2.

Server / Services / WebApi​

  • FIXED Template cache: After changes to templates (forms, layout, etc.), the server-side cache returned outdated data; server-side generated documents only picked up changes after a restart of the server application. Template changes now take effect immediately after synchronization again. Affects installations on version 4.0.30171.0.

DataSourceAdminApp​

  • FIXED Package export: The function "Select snippets that are used in selected templates" no longer reliably selected the snippets belonging to the selected templates (same cache cause). Dependent snippets are correctly detected and selected during export again.

Word AddIn​

  • FIXED Plain text snippets: When creating a new snippet of type "plain text", the OK button in the dialog remained disabled, so the snippet could not be saved (affected shared snippets in the classic add-in for Word and Outlook). Plain text snippets can be created and saved again.

Outlook (New)​

  • NEW Personal connectors: Users can now establish and manage personal connector connections, including authentication and access to personal Outlook contacts.
  • NEW Default email profile: For new messages in the Outlook web add-in, the default email profile is applied reliably.
  • FIXED Plain text signatures: Plain text email signatures are now set correctly.
  • FIXED Plain text behaviour: Incorrect behaviour with the default format "plain text only" in the new Outlook module has been fixed.
  • FIXED Multiple signature versions: Templates with several published signature versions no longer cause errors; the correct version is used.
  • FIXED Signature images: Logo and campaign images are loaded reliably in Outlook (New).
  • FIXED Signature performance: Updating Outlook signatures has been significantly accelerated.
  • FIXED Permissions: Signature rules now correctly take the permissions of individual signatures and campaigns into account.
  • FIXED Translations: The signature GUI now shows content in the correct language; the fallback to the default language also works for campaign labels.
  • FIXED Language switching: When switching the language, the list of available signatures and campaigns is updated correctly; the list display in the dropdown shows the correct value.
  • FIXED Text-only signatures: "Text-only" signatures also work when a FormattedText field is defined.
  • FIXED AutoInsert: The option AutoInsert is now also correctly applied when inserting a signature manually.
  • FIXED Email templates: Email templates work reliably in the new Outlook again.

Outlook (Classic)​

  • FIXED MS Copilot integration: Text from MS Copilot can now be inserted correctly. Prerequisite: the feature flag DisableSignatureTypingProtection must be set to true in the OutlookFeatureConfig. Note: this disables write protection in the signature area.
  • FIXED Profile sharing: With profile sharing "without signature image", the signature image is no longer displayed incorrectly.
  • FIXED Performance: Manual signature and profile switching responds noticeably faster and more reliably.

PowerPoint AddIn​

  • NEW Image size control: The size and positioning of primedocs images in PowerPoint templates can now also be controlled on the slide master — via the shape tags PRIMEDOCS.PICTUREMODE (Fit/Exact) and PRIMEDOCS.PICTUREANCHOR.
  • NEW Tag overview: The tag overview dialog now only shows tags that can actually be used.
  • FIXED Performance: Migration of complex presentations and loading of large PowerPoint templates on the web have been significantly accelerated.
  • FIXED Placeholders: Text placeholders are correctly positioned in the foreground when several image placeholders are on one slide.
  • FIXED Images with picture tag: Images are retained even if both the shape and the placeholder carry a picture tag.
  • FIXED Empty placeholders: Binding with empty values no longer inserts additional spaces.
  • FIXED Themes: The correct application of several font and colour themes has been improved.
  • FIXED Slide sorter: The ribbon is now also displayed in the "slide sorter" view.
  • FIXED Extract slides: The "extract slides" menu no longer causes an exception when editing the slide master.
  • FIXED Checkbox fields: Disabled checkbox fields in PowerPoint templates no longer cause generation errors in the web client (case-insensitive boolean parsing).

Word AddIn​

  • FIXED Updating in the open document: The formatting of text field content controls is retained when updating.
  • FIXED PDF conversion: PDF conversion in Word works reliably again.
  • FIXED WordTableRows: Updating dynamically generated table rows (WordTableRows) in the open document has been stabilized.
  • FIXED FormattedText in WordContent: Embedded FormattedText within a WordContent field no longer loses its formatting when updating.
  • FIXED Inheritance: Word settings are now correctly inherited from parent configurations.

Excel AddIn​

  • FIXED Pie charts: The colour sequence in Excel pie charts is applied clockwise again.
  • FIXED Worksheets: When inserting a new worksheet, images from the active sheet are no longer copied accidentally.

Document Engine​

  • NEW Picture fields binding: Picture fields are integrated into templates more cleanly via an optimized binding.
  • FIXED Logging: Template content errors in the Document Engine are now correctly logged as a warning instead of a server error.
  • FIXED Images in text boxes: Images inside text boxes are updated correctly during generation.
  • FIXED AdditionalProfile: Server-side document generation with an empty AdditionalProfile no longer causes errors such as "Expected anonymous object, Picture or a string".
  • FIXED DataProvider configuration: XML comments in DataProvider configurations are processed correctly in the web app.
  • FIXED InlineWordContent: InlineWordContent fields in the header and footer keep their style when refreshing the document properties.

Connect​

  • NEW Connect Session API: New API for controlling and managing Connect sessions.

  • FIXED WebApi: The error "Profile with id x has no organization unit assigned" when retrieving Outlook data has been fixed.
  • FIXED DataSourceAdminApp secret: The secret of the DataSourceAdminApp is validated correctly in the Identity Server.
  • FIXED User offboarding: Offboarding is now also triggered when no successful synchronization exists yet for a user.
  • FIXED UserSync: An InvalidOperationException when tracking duplicate synchronized users in the UserSyncJob has been fixed.
  • FIXED Identity Server: The invalid_grant error during token refresh caused by parallel requests from the Outlook web add-in has been fixed.
  • FIXED OneOffixx 3.8 compatibility: An endless loop of the service when synchronizing OneOffixx 3.8 clients against databases with colour/font themes has been fixed.
  • FIXED SharePoint URL: The URL structure in SharePoint mode has been corrected.

App / WebApp​

  • NEW Template tags in the web app: Template tags are now also available in the web app.
  • FIXED Profile images: Profile images can be removed explicitly; the inheritance behaviour has been clarified.
  • FIXED SharePoint mode: An error during first login in primedocs SharePoint mode has been fixed.
  • FIXED Mobile / dark mode: Drag'n'drop in dark mode on mobile devices is displayed correctly; the unwanted "copy" bubble has been removed.
  • FIXED Web app: General document generation errors in the web app have been fixed.
  • FIXED Teams add-in: Login works reliably again.
  • FIXED Document properties: With "Create & Save in OneDrive" for Word and PowerPoint, document properties are set correctly.
  • FIXED Profile selection: The profile dropdown also responds reliably with six or more profiles.

Outlook (New)​

  • NEW Campaigns: Support for Outlook campaigns (timed additions to signatures) in the new Outlook.
  • NEW Mobile: Support for the event onMessageRecipientsChanged on Android and iOS (from version 1.7).
  • NEW Formatted Text: Formatted text fields are now also supported in plain text signatures and templates (automatic conversion).
  • FIXED Data Protection: When retrieving the default signature, a POST request is now used to prevent logging of email addresses in the URL.
  • FIXED Caching: Issues with outdated manifest or JS files (breaking change version 1.5.0.0) have been fixed.

Outlook (Classic)​

  • NEW SendUsingAccounts: The configuration for sending on behalf of other accounts has been improved.
  • FIXED Performance: Delays and client freezes during signature distribution and creation ("Signature Publishing") have been fixed.
  • FIXED Stability: Error handling for the action DefaultSignatureAsync has been improved to avoid exceptions.

PowerPoint AddIn​

  • NEW Arrange & Center: A new ribbon group "Arrange" including a one-click centering function has been added.
  • NEW Copy Formats: Via the context menu, format properties (e.g., only color or only size) can now be selectively copied and applied.
  • NEW Extract Slides: Selected slides can be extracted into a new, separate presentation.
  • NEW Send Slides: Extracted slides can optionally be opened directly as an attachment in a new email (Outlook Classic).
  • NEW Chart Preview: Preview images for color sequences are now displayed in the dropdown for chart selection.
  • FIXED Table of Contents: Errors with spacing in numbering and problems updating the agenda (loss of manual elements) have been fixed.
  • FIXED Stability: A bug when closing a presentation has been fixed.

Word AddIn​

  • FIXED PDF Conversion: A bug in PDF creation of Word documents via Output Management has been fixed.
  • FIXED Template Comparison: An exception when comparing two primedocs templates has been fixed.
  • FIXED TableRows: A problem where updates inserted unwanted additional paragraphs in table cells has been fixed.
  • FIXED Styles: Table formatting is no longer lost in content templates.

Excel AddIn​

  • FIXED Stability: A crash when viewing version history in Excel (especially with OneDrive/SharePoint) has been fixed.

Document Engine​

  • NEW Automatic Type Conversion: Compatibility between fields and snippet placeholders has been improved; types (e.g., text to WordContent) are automatically converted where possible.
  • NEW Meta-DF: New function for DocumentProperties with access to forms, fields, and profile data.
  • NEW HTML Attributes: Handlebars now supports dynamic values within HTML attributes.
  • FIXED Jint: A recursion error when executing certain JavaScript functions has been fixed.
  • FIXED Snippets: Formatted Text and SnippetBlockPlaceholder are no longer mistakenly recognized as "inline."

  • FIXED Email Format: The API now returns HTML by default instead of plain text without needing explicit request.

  • NEW Custom Username: The primedocs username can now be defined via a custom attribute (e.g., AD attribute).
